On the other hand the FIA was quite relentless. 5 sec for 0.1 kph speeding after he had already gotten a few is just over the edge imo.15-03-2023 10:13

Would be great to see Alonso bring home a 3rd title after which he can retire. If AMR give him a car on par with the Red Bull I'm telling he Alonso will look Max like a rookie. No offense. 20 years experience is just that much better than 8. And Alonso just has that speed. He still does.15-03-2023 10:15

RB have had a rocket ship for the past 3 years now. I'm sure it will be an easy win again.15-03-2023 10:11

Marko is not an aero specialist; It has been said many times, the zero pod design is not the cause of the troubles. In the end, Mercedes were 3rd fastest last year with it. That means the concept still did better than 7 other teams, many of which were inspired on the RB/ferrari concepr or a mix thereof. If you read Newey's book, you can be sure he found a few loopholes which gave them their edge. Nobody knows ground effect cars as well as Newey does.15-03-2023 10:33

Red Bull have been spending 2.2million dollars over the cost cap for their 2021 car. That allowed them to not only add upgrades to the RB16B almost every race but also spent quite more resources in the RB18 which clearly showed. So Russel is right. That 10% lost wind tunnel time can be compensated if they first combine multiple data gathering sessions and run combined tests in the tunnel. 10% is a very light penalty.12-02-2023 04:14

Some considerations: - Ferrari nor Mercedes invested heavily in their '21 car. Red Bull did, with upgrades every race - Red Bull had quite some costly crashes in '21. Mercedes had 1 medium one with Bottas/Russel, I can't remember Ferrari binning much except Hungary, Bottas bowl. - Ferrari and RB brought updates earlier than Merc this year. Merc first gathered terrabytes of data, assured they knew where to look/improve and only then created new parts. Red Bull of all teams must have spent a LOT of money in '21. A Lot more then anyone else. People generally don't ask questions about Ferrari. They ask questions about Red Bull alone. It is imo very questionable they invested so heavily in '21 and still found cash to have the fastest '22 car while nobody else had that cash to spend. Red Bull has a rep for cheating. Now again, with their illegal flex floor. I'd like to know the details but we'll never get them07-07-2022 09:56

I think even is the Merc is a tad slower then the rest, Hamilton will still compete. If the Merc is on par or better, the rest stands no chance imo.07-07-2022 10:03

Ralph will leave no opportunity untouched to bring Lewis down. It has however been said multiple times now, a few weeks ago by Ross Brawn even, that Mercedes are using experimental setups on Hamiltons' car. To learn. Race pace, Hamilton has consistently been faster than Russel despite. But it has to be said, George has been amazing. Just sad, the jealousy that Ralph holds. ?16-06-2022 10:27

It is not surprising that Dutch commentators will do everything to bring Lewis down. Everyone knows the cars run different set ups. So there is not a comparison really. Let's wait until the car is fixed and both drivers have full confidence in it. We could also say "oh Max is on his way down, look, Perez outqualified him twice in a row..." Such "opinions" are totally useless and nothing more but the the author's envy.16-06-2022 10:34

Mazepin will never return to F1 unless his dad starts his own team. He was too lousy a driver and nobody will want him.16-06-2022 10:41
